La AZ4000 HPS è una nuova montatura altazimutale basata sulla meccanica della GM4000 HPS II. La AZ4000 HPS è una montatura da ricerca, molto versatile,con un imponente carico utile, ideale per attività scientifiche come misure astrometriche e fotometriche, per il monitoraggio del seeing e per il monitoraggio dei satelliti artificiali ecc.
Trattandosi di una montatura altazimutale, la AZ4000 HPS necessita di un de-rotatore opzionale (ASCOM compatibile) per le lunghe esposizioni, onde evitare rotazione di campo.
Una speciale opzione consente l’utilizzo di due più ottiche montate affiancate, ottimizzando così il carico sulla montatura sostituendo i contrappesi con altro payload (vedere accessori o opzioni): la versione standard prevede il montaggio dell’ottica su un solo lato ed è fornita di barra contrappesi.
